How do I send money overseas?

Can I send money overseas?

You can send money overseas securely with an international money transfer (IMT). To send money to an overseas account:

  1. Go to the Payments tab in the ANZ Plus app.
  2. Tap on Pay.
  3. Tap on International Money Transfer and follow the prompts.

What details do I need?

To make an international money transfer you’ll need:

  • Recipient's bank details: bank name, branch number or SWIFT/BIC code.
  • Recipient’s account details: account number or IBAN, where supported or required by the country you’re transferring to.
  • Recipient’s details: the recipient’s full legal name and home address, or business name and business address.

Fees and charges

ANZ does not charge a transfer fee for international money transfers made in foreign currency. International money transfers in Australian dollars will incur a fee of up to $15.

International money transfers may be routed through a worldwide network of correspondents and financial institutions, which may charge a fee. This fee is generally deducted from the amount credited to the recipient’s account.

We’ll display the ANZ transfer fee, estimated correspondent fee, and, where possible, any applicable fees and charges before you confirm your payment. For example, we may not be able to display applicable recipient bank fees and charges.
