What are Round Ups?
What are Round Ups?
Round Ups can help you put a little money towards your savings or home loan when you spend with your card.
When you ask us to, we'll round up your eligible card purchases to the nearest $1, $2, $5 or even $10, and transfer the extra amount to an eligible ANZ Plus account. This could be an ANZ Plus savings account or an ANZ Plus Home Loan.
To enable Round Ups in the app:
- Go to the Card icon.
- Swipe to the find the card you'd like to Round Up transactions from.
- Look for Round Ups and select Enable.
- Toggle on Round Ups and choose the amount and eligible account you'd like to Round Up to.
How Round Ups work
When you make a purchase with Round Ups enabled, the amount we send to the account or goal you've selected will depend on the nearest dollar value you selected.
Here's what that looks like when we Round up a purchase of $13:
- To the nearest $1 - we won't round anything up, so nothing will be transferred.
- To the nearest $2 - we'll round it up to $14 and transfer $1.
- To the nearest $5 - we'll round it up to $15 and transfer $2.
- To the nearest $10 - we'll round it up to $20 and transfer $7.
If an eligible card transaction changes after you make it, we won't reverse or change a Round Up.
Updating Round Ups
Once you've enabled Round Ups, you can also update the nearest dollar value you're rounding up to, or change the eligible ANZ Plus account that you're rounding up into.
To update your Round Up:
- Go to the Card icon
- Swipe to the find the card linked to the Round Ups you'd like to change.
- Tap on Round Ups and select what you'd like to update.
Tracking Round Ups
If you want to track your Round Ups, look for the gold coin on your transactions to find the ones that have been rounded up.
You can also try searching 'round up' or 'round ups' on the Money tab to find how much you've rounded up to or from an account.
No linked card transaction?
Some Round Ups may not be linked to a card transaction. This may be because the transaction was reversed (e.g. pre-authorisation charge) or the card transaction wasn't processed on the same day it was made - when this happens, the Round Up will appear on the day you make the transaction and the transaction will appear on the day it is processed.
Joint accounts
You can also choose to Round Up transactions to or from joint accounts.
If you enable Round Ups from a Joint ANZ Plus Everyday account, they'll be enabled for all eligible transactions linked to the account, including transactions the other account holder makes using their Joint ANZ Plus Visa Debit card or digital wallet linked to this account.
Either you or your plus one can update or disable Round Ups, but any changes will apply to all eligible transactions made by you or your plus one using your Joint ANZ Plus cards or digital wallet.
You can Round Up between joint and individual accounts, but you won't be able to Round Up between joint accounts that you share with different people.
What is an eligible card purchase?
An eligible card purchase is a transaction we classify as an ANZ Plus Visa Debit card or digital wallet transaction based on information available to us. It doesn't include other transaction types such as direct debits, BPAY, Pay Anyone payments and ATM withdrawals.
For any eligible card purchases made in a foreign currency, it'll be converted to Australian dollars and we'll calculate the Round Up on that amount.
Round Ups may not work as expected at all times. Message a Coach in-app for help if you're unsure whether your Round Ups are working right.
